Improving your ups

Jumping is a key part in almost all sports. The key to jumping higher and faster is building the muscles in your legs. With the saying, “If you don’t use it you lose it.”, in mind you must use the muscles in your legs to build them.

When beginning your jumping exercises be sure to warm up. This warm up may include stretching and a short jog to get you body loosened up. A good exercise to begin with is deep knee bends. To do this you stand straight and bend your knees and then rise. Repeat this exercise 15 times if you do not feel pain. Next you can do deep knee jumps. You do the same thing as a deep knee bend but jump up as high in the air as you can. When you land you crouch and do another one. Next move on to toe raises. Raise onto the tips of your toes slowly and repeat 40-50 times. Abdominal crunches will also increase your ups. Last but not least be sure to practice jumping rope forward and backwards.
